Cookie Policy

We believe in transparency. This policy explains exactly which cookies we use on the SyncWave Technologies website, why we use them, and how you can control them.

Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how SyncWave Technologies Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit www.syncwave.co.ke. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site owner. Cookies cannot execute code, carry viruses, or access your personal files.

In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as web beacons (pixel tags), local storage objects, and session storage. This policy applies to all such technologies collectively referred to as “cookies”.

2. Cookies We Use

We categorise the cookies on our website into four types:

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are typically set in response to actions you take, such as setting your privacy preferences, submitting a contact form, or navigating the site. Without these cookies, the services you have requested cannot be provided.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent under applicable law. They are always active when you use our website.

Cookie Name Purpose Duration
PHPSESSID Maintains your session state across page loads (contact form submission handling) Session
sw_cookie_consent Stores your cookie preference selections so we don’t ask again on subsequent visits 12 months

2.2 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, some features may not work correctly.

Cookie Name Provider Purpose Duration

sw_theme SyncWave Stores display preference (e.g., reduced-motion) if applicable 6 months

2.3 Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting anonymised information. This allows us to improve the website structure, content, and user experience. These cookies are only set with your consent.

We configure Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. We do not use Google Analytics data to build individual user profiles or for remarketing.

2.4 Marketing & Targeting Cookies

We currently do not use marketing or behavioural advertising cookies on our website. If this changes, we will update this policy and seek your consent before setting any such cookies. We do not use retargeting pixels or share browsing data with advertising networks.

Our Commitment

SyncWave Technologies does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your browsing data to third parties for commercial advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some pages on our website may embed content or features from third-party providers that set their own cookies. These include:

  • Google reCAPTCHA: Used on our contact form to protect against spam and automated abuse. reCAPTCHA sets cookies to distinguish human users from bots. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
  • Google Fonts: We load web fonts from Google’s CDN. Google may log the request. No persistent cookies are set by this service.
  • Embedded Maps: Where Google Maps is embedded (e.g., on our Contact page), Google may set cookies related to map interaction and personalisation. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

We have no control over cookies set by third parties. We recommend reviewing each provider’s own privacy and cookie policies for full details.

4. Your Cookie Choices & How to Manage Cookies

You have several options for managing cookies:

4.1 Browser Settings

You can configure your web browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to alert you when websites attempt to set or access cookies. The following links provide guidance for the most common browsers:

  • Google Chrome — Settings › Privacy and Security › Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox — Options › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
  • Microsoft Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions
  • Apple Safari — Preferences › Privacy › Manage Website Data

Please note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of our website and other websites you visit.

4.2 Opt-Out of Google Analytics

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visit by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Alternatively, enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser settings signals your preference; our analytics configuration respects this signal where technically feasible.

4.3 Consent Withdrawal

Where you have consented to analytics or functional cookies, you may withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, clear the sw_cookie_consent cookie from your browser storage for this domain, or contact us at info@syncwave.co.ke and we will assist you.

5. Cookie Retention Periods

Cookies either expire at the end of your browser session (session cookies) or remain on your device for a specified period (persistent cookies). Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after their expiry date, or you can delete them manually through your browser at any time. The specific durations for each cookie are noted in the tables in Section 2 above.

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity to be tracked. There is currently no universally accepted technical standard for DNT recognition. We monitor this space and will update our practices as standards emerge. In the interim, our analytics configuration is set to anonymise IP addresses and minimise data collection.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify active clients by email. Please revisit this page periodically to stay informed about our use of cookies.
